- Association cites rise from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000 per sq yard in September 2024
- Seeks a freeze during the festival season
- Asks for a reduction in public interest
The Mohali Property Consultants Association has demanded that the increase in collector rates be withdrawn immediately, in a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.
Association president Harjinder Singh Dhawan called the hike 'inappropriate'. According to the association, collector rates rose from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000 per square yard in September 2024.
The association said the increase prevents economically weaker and middle-class families from buying property in Mohali. It asked for the hike to be frozen during the festival season and for rates to be reduced.
